Our honey is raw; that means that it isn’t pasteurized or cooked. It’s made by extracting honey from the honeycomb and spinning it to separate the honey from impurities like beeswax. Raw honey is exactly as it exists in the beehive, and the natural enzymes, and other raw whole food nutrients are preserved.
Raw honey is semi-solid; when left at room temperature, it has a creamy texture, and spreads smoothly and dissolves easily in hot drinks.
We love our honey in coffee and tea, on toast, in salad dressings and marinades, and in baking.
Raw honey has many other uses. When mixed with ginger and lemon, it effectively relieves nausea and provides an energy boost. It can be a helpful energy supplement during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Raw honey contains an enzyme called amylase that helps to predigest starchy foods like bread. It’s the original energy gel; many endurance athletes use raw honey on their long runs and rides rather than processed, sugary, expensive energy bars or supplements. Other popular uses include relieving seasonal allergies, treating coughs and colds, and in beauty treatments like face masks and balms.
